The Crestwood Home Expo is designed to encourage residents to upgrade their home, stay in Crestwood by expanding their home for their growing family, and to showcase Crestwood as a Community for a Lifetime to home buyers. There are three aspects of the Home Expo: Idea Plans, Vendor exhibits, and the House Tour.
The Expo began from a book of plans, developed by First Suburbs of Kansas City, specific to post WWII homes such as those in Crestwood. This book of idea plans includes three levels of renovation for each of four house types: ranch, split level, cape cod, and two story. These plans will be on display at the Home Expo. If you would like to purchase the book, it is available at http://www.marc.org/firstsuburbs/planbook.htm for $10.00.
Also at the Expo, professionals and vendors, including contractors, suppliers, banks, realtors and city government, will provide exhibits and be available to answer questions. Topics included will be how to hire professionals, how to get permits and how to finance your project, among others. Please check the vendors' page for an updated list.
The third aspect of the Expo is the house tour. The final list, with photos, is available by clicking the House Tour link at the top of this page. We have included a new house, a green house, a professionally remodeled house and houses that have added master bed rooms and second strories.
